15.4. Arrival day

After the flight to Catania and our arrival we met the other participating teams from Turkey, Bulgaria, Germany and Sicily. We all were guided through Catania to get to know the town.

In the evening we were driven to Riesi and Mazzarino where teachers and pupils were hosted.

16.4. Trip to Palermo

The whole group left Mazzarino and Riesi at 7.30 a.m. for the trip to Palermo. There we had an organised tour to the most important sights, city centre and harbour.

We returned at 10 p.m.

17.4. Meeting and welcome at school

9.00 a.m. arrival, then the headmistress and the school band welcomed the groups.

Afterwards tour through the school

Then group performances of ‘Fair play’ dances

Presentation of Tarantella

Everybody danced Tarantella as well as Bulgarian, Turkish and German national dances and the Austrian Polka.

1.00 p.m. to 3.00 p.m. lunch at the school restaurant in Riesi

3.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. teachers checked humanitarian activities that had been planned before the meeting

Students played games in the gym with an emphasis on the values such as fairness, respect, tolerance

18.4. Visit of the school in Mazzarino

Meeting at 8.30

Planning of the final meeting in Turkey, students were in different classrooms.

11 p.m. Presentations of lesson plans and sports activities in the gym

Lunch at school

In the afternoon excursion to the Villa Romana del Casale

19.4. Mazzarino

At 9.00 a.m. we had a walking tour through Mazzarino

Then we met the local authorities in the town hall

In the afternoon we walked to the castle in Mazzarino

At 6.00 p.m. began the closing ceremony at school followed by a buffet organised by the school restaurant

20.4. Departure Day

After a final tour through Catania we flew back to Austria
